Frederick County Public Schools conducted a redistricting study in 2025 in preparation for the opening of the new Linganore Creek Elementary School, which opens in the 2026-2027 school year.

At the November 19, 2025 Board of Education meeting, the Board unanimously voted to approve adjustments to the Oakdale Elementary and Deer Crossing Elementary attendance areas to establish an attendance area for the new Linganore Creek Elementary School. Changes to these attendance areas are as followed:

  • The portion of the Oakdale ES attendance area that is south of  Old National Pike and the area from Yeagertown Road eastward is moved into the Linganore Creek ES attendance area
  • The portion of the Deer Crossing ES attendance area that is within the Town of New Market, plus 3 additional unincorporated properties on the east side of Boyers Mill Road (south of the DCES building). This area primarily consists of the upcoming Calumet residential development, as well as existing homes on Boyers Mill Road, New Market Court, and Rawley Road. Current DCES students in this area were offered waivers to remain at DCES.

No changes were made to middle or high school attendance areas. Changes to the affected areas will go into effect for the 2026-2027 school year. To view the Board's decision, visit:
