» The BOE approved total grant funds of $1,980,000 (6 grants of $330,000 each) from MSDE to support the six Judy Center Early Learning Hubs at elementary schools.
» The BOE approved grant funds of $94,014 from MSDE to support teacher professional learning through the System of Professional Learning grant.
» Staff provided an overview of the charter school application review process and reviewed 2 recent applications. Due to noted deficits, the BOE denied both current applications for each new charter school. Both agencies may reapply with edits in future years.
» Policy 503, Character Education & Policy 506, Evening High School were presented for a first reading decommission and will return to the BOE for a second reading for decommission in a future work session.
