In March 2025, the Maryland State Board of Education adopted the Maryland PreK - 12 Mathematics Policy. This policy outlines significant changes to mathematics education in the state of Maryland for the coming years, including changes to mathematics standards and introduction of new high school course sequences beginning in 2027-28.
As FCPS prepares for these changes, including our own Comprehensive Mathematics Plan for action, information, updates, and opportunities for stakeholder engagement will be provided on this site. Public discussion will also take place through Board of Education meetings in 2026.
